They are easier on the PVC coated aircraft cable than metal pulleys. The pulleys are a 1 3/4 inch diameter fiberglass reinforced nylon with heavy-duty zinc-plated steel straps. The composite wheel is very strong, will not corrode, and is self-lubricating. You can also attach a rope or a cord between a zinc snap clip and the pulley so that you can keep your cable runs closer to the ceiling.
